Freshwater Gobies of the Genus Rhinogobius from the Mekong Basin in Thailand and Laos, with Descriptions of Three New Species

I-Shiung Chen, Maurice Kottelat and Peter J. Miller (1999) Four valid species of the genus Rhinogobius Gill, 1859 occur in the Mekong basin in Thailand and Laos: R. mekongianus (Pellegrin and Fang, 1940), and 3 new species, R. albimaculatus, R. lineatus, and R. taenigena. The 4 species can be distinguished by their color patterns and different meristic characters.
