Austruca citrus, the 107th
Species of Fiddler Crabs of the World!
Austruca citrus, a new species of fiddler crab from the South Pacific islands, is a sister species to Austruca perplexa.
Based on the strong morphological and molecular evidence, as well as
the different biogeographic distributions and behavior, this new
species has been established. Because its bright yellow coloration, we
used "citrus" as its specific name and its common name is "Lemon
fiddler crab".
