Ontogenetic Development Related to Parental Care of an Armored Catfish
 
This study describe and analyze the main ontogenetic changes in Pterygoplichthys ambrosettii, focusing on morphology, color pattern, morphometrics, and meristics from the newly hatched larva to the adult. The possible relationship between ontogenetic development and parental care in this loricariid is discussed.
