Coexistence of Red Fox and Asiatic Jackal in Pothwar Plateau, Pakistan

This study sheds light on the coexistence of red foxes and Asiatic jackals in the Pothwar Plateau, Pakistan. By investigating their spatio-temporal niche segregation and habitat suitability, we gain insights into the ecological dynamics of these sympatric canids. Our findings reveal temporal adjustments for coexistence and identify key drivers of habitat suitability, such as land use and distance to poultry farms. This research informs conservation planning and management strategies, highlighting the need to protect and manage habitats effectively. By understanding the ecological niches of these species, we can promote biodiversity and mitigate human-wildlife conflicts. This study contributes to the growing body of research on canid ecology and conservation, providing valuable insights for scientists, conservationists, and policymakers.
