Kelp forest gastropods: ocean warming impacts and aquaculture potential
Our study demonstrated that two species of marine gastropods inhabiting kelp forest in the Northeast Pacific Ocean are likely to be moderately affected by ocean warming, potentially driving shifts in their current distribution patterns. Moreover, data on thermal limits and optimal temperatures are valuable for initiating and optimizing the aquaculture of both species, which could also contribute to mitigating the impact of overfishing on wild populations.
