Description of Two New Species of Hongshuia, with synonymization of H. paoli with H. megalophthalmus

The labeonin genus Hongshuia Zhang, Qiang & Lan 2008 represents a group small-sized species harboring in karst area of southwest China. In present study, two new species of the genus, H. boulobos and H. wangi, are described in the study, Both are distinct from their congeners in their unique oromandibular structures. The validities of the two species are also supported by mitochondrial gene divergences. The type species of the genus, H. paoli, is considered as a junior synonym of H. megalophthalmus. The study also review the possible diversification history of the genus, which is closely associated with landscape evolution and ecological disparity.
